The Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest car manufacturer, has unveiled its first-ever electric vehicle, the e-Vitara, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Developed in collaboration with Toyota, this all-electric SUV marks a significant milestone in Maruti Suzuki’s journey towards sustainable mobility. Manufactured at the company’s Gujarat plant, the e-Vitara is poised to compete with established EVs like the Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta EV, and MG ZS EV.

Powertrain and Performance
The Maruti e-Vitara is built on the new Heartect-E platform, co-developed with Toyota, featuring integrated eAxles that combine the motor and inverter. It offers two battery.
- 49 kWh Battery: Delivers a range of approximately 340–360 km on the MIDC cycle, producing 144 hp and 189 Nm of torque.
- 61 kWh Battery: Provides a range exceeding 500 km, with 174 hp and 189 Nm of torque in the 2WD configuration. The 4WD variant, equipped with the ALLGRIP-e system, adds a rear motor, boosting total output to 184 hp and 300 Nm of torque.
Charging capabilities include 100 kW DC fast charging, achieving 10–80% charge in approximately 35 minutes, and 7.4 kW AC home charging, taking about 6 hours for a full charge.
